Welcome to the Church of the Resurrection’s new GPS blog! This is intended
to enrich your use of the new Grow-Pray-Study tool that will be in the
church’s bulletin each week, and will be available over the Internet if you
have to miss worship. We’ve created this new tool because we’re convinced
that there is no single step more powerful in helping you to grow
spiritually than spending 10 minutes each day in reading the Bible,
reflecting on what it says to you, and talking with God about what the Bible
says to you personally. So the GPS tool gives you a Scripture passage to
read each day, space to make notes as you reflect on the passages meaning,
and a prayer journal to use as you talk with God.
We all need company on this journey of spiritual growth, however, and that’s
where the blog comes in. We’ve asked one Resurrection member each day to
share a personal response to that day’s passage. We hope this will enrich
your study, as you benefit from the insights, questions and reflections of
another Christian who is on the journey with you. I’m going to be one of
the bloggers–my name is Darrell Holtz, and I do writing and curriculum
development here at the church.
I’ll just add that I’m really looking forward to this series of sermons. 1
Corinthians is an amazingly “contemporary” letter, even though it was
written almost 2000 years ago. I know I’ll be challenged, deepened and
blessed as we study it together, and I’m praying that you will find that to
be your experience, too.
